MARLPOOL GARDEN
A contemporary terrace incorporating areas for dining, lounging and dancing was created at the rear of Marlpool House along with a modern formal corner garden. Low rendered walls were used to zone the terrace, provide shelter and to house planting, speakers & programmable lighting. A hardwood walkway leads to a dramatic chimney with a matching deck wrapping the dancefloor area to form a DJ platform. This is complimented by bespoke hardwood bench tops and washstand incorporating a basalt basin and outdoor shower. In the corner garden a bronze seedpod sculpture sits on traditional clay and stone paving excavated during building work. Box hedging and grasses were used to provide consistent shape and colour throughout the year with verbena and a variety of alliums giving seasonal interest.
